Myles Baker Street { yummy desserts }

I went to Myles Baker Street the other day for a session and I recommend you go there today :)  They have such yummy stuff!!!

It is located in Bowling Green right off of Wooster.

Whether you are looking for a wedding cake, a birthday cake, or just a sweet tooth fix.

I suggest you run there for a valentines treat for your loved one, trust me they will appreciate it.

Here are a couple things we got when I was there….

chocolatey goodness for Joe…

cheesecake goodness for me…

Now this next one is a coconut cookie thing (sorry meredith, I don’t know the names :) ) and at first I wasn’t sure if I like coconut enough for it but one I had one I couldn’t get enough, I got 5 and before I hoped on the express way in BG 4 were gone, it took all my will power to not eat the last one so Joe could actually try one :)  Needless to say I recommend these, and if you are driving by the studio after going to Myles Baker Street, feel free to drop some off :)

So run to Myles Baker Street and get some goodies!

DIY wedding ideas is such a hot topic on our message boards. From programs to place cards, cake toppers, and even cuff links (check out the red and white polka-dotted ones below!), there are so many elements that — with time and patience and a couple good friends — you can really do yourself. The gorgeous aqua and red wedding photos below (which we’ll be featuring in our regional The Knot Weddings Ohio magazine) is filled with amazing DIY ideas. Check them out!

Here’s what Robin says about her and Danny’s wedding in Chesterfield, Ohio…

“Our wedding style could be described as whimsical, homemade, rustic and cheery. We had repeating symbols of birds, branches and leaves. We also tried to use the apple farm reference in some of our décor (i.e. the cake flavor and red apple flavored jelly beans in our favors). Everything was very spring-y! We also wanted everything to be very “us” and for it to be fun for everyone. We decided early on that we were willing to bypass tradition in order for things to fit our style.

All of the flowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and decorations were hand made. We made them out of cardstock, tissue paper and coffee filters that we water-colored. We got all of the ideas for flower patters from crafting sites online as well as from our own designs. The flower construction was really a huge group process. We had a lot of help from family and friends to make all of the flowers that we used for the wedding.

The reception building had a very rustic feel with dark wood walls and big windows. We had white tablecloths and red napkins, as well as aqua colored chair covers. Our centerpieces were tall round vases that had branches with little red crepe-paper flowers on them. They were meant to have the feel of the apple blossom branches, but also match our colors. We also put out little aqua votives on each table. The room had a big fireplace with a mantle so we decorated it with tissue paper flowers and the letters for “love” that I made out of pre-bought letters and fabric. We also hung up a display of family members’ weddings at the entrance. This project was especially fun, because in finding our parents’, grandparents’, aunts’ and uncles’ weddings we also got to see all of their wedding pictures and learned a lot about their own weddings.

At each setting we had little jars filled with red apple and vanilla flavored jellybeans. We chose them to go with the apple orchard feel. Each one was tied with an aqua ribbon and a note. The note thanked our guest for being so “sweet” and told them that we wanted to return the favor. It also instructed them to visit our candy bar, which was filled with aqua and red candies, as well as our personal favorites.”

Everybody’s Zoo-ing it… { toledo area photographer }

This Saturday with the heat wave we have been having in Toledo (you know 40’s ) my family and I went to the Toledo Zoo.

Here are some pics for our little trip…

I hadn’t been to the zoo on nice weather for a while, the last two time it was either raining or freezing rain and ice, so needless to say I was glad to have nicer weather and I think the animals were also.

cute idea …. { toledo photographer }

I receive emails from “photojojo” with random photo ideas and projects.

Well this weeks newsletter had a really cute idea I thought I would share.

Wouldn’t these frames look great in a kids room, a game room, a basement. Get a game board that lost it’s pieces, go to goodwill and pick one up. I think you could do so much with these and have fun with it :)

More about it if you want some inspiration… photojojo newsletter
